Yesterday we went to the triple border, and it was amazing to see the lake when it is brave and you can feel this energy too. Then, when we´re walking back to the boat, a man came near and started to talk about the mountains and the lemmings. Maybe he could be a teacher or a biologist. Anyway, he was very kind for the knowledge about Finland environment that he gave us. But the in the boat, the man continued the talk and when arrived to the point, why are you here? we explained that we are staying in an artist residency, he said. "oh,are you studying plants? ", "no, but we have a collaboration with the Biological Station of Kilpisjärvi. We are artists", but he just looked more confused.We tried to explain again. We saw an expression of disinterest in his face. Then, he was gone. This conversation must be usual for me, but always makes me think about science and art. For me art is on search for a knowledge of the environment and the relationship of the humans with it. The science is looking for knowledge of the environment and how it works. But, both search the knowledge on different ways. Both are culture and make the humans try to see the world in different views. That is what I think. Maybe I´m wrong. I don´t know. And the project continues with some troubles but the sculptures are made and just one needs fixing. It´s gonna be alright. OH! this morning appeared three cute neighbors. Reindeers. This is a pic.
