Haemme vakituista toiminnanjohtajaa aloittamaan lokakuussa tai sopimuksen mukaan. Tarjoamme monipuolisen roolin arvostetun ja laajasti verkostoituneen kansainvälisen yhdistyksen johdossa. Toiminnanjohtajana työskentelet laajassa taiteen ja tieteen, nykytaiteen, tieteen ja teknologian sekä ympäristöhumanismin ammattilaisten verkostossa. Tehtävä tarjoaa ainutlaatuisen näkymän kansainväliseen taidemaailmaan.

Etsimme ammattilaista, joka on kiinnostunut kehittämään yhdistyksen toimintaa strategisesti pitkällä aikavälillä yhdistyksen arvojen mukaisesti. Tulevien vuosien tavoitteisiin kuuluu yhdistyksen toiminnan vakiinnuttaminen SOLU-tila-projektitilassamme Helsingissä, uusien kansainvälisten projektien suunnittelu ja yhdistyksen talouden vahvistaminen. Työskentelet tiiviissä yhteistyössä taiteellisen johtajan kanssa yhdistäen operatiivisen johtamisen taiteelliseen visioon ja sinua tukee sitoutunut hallitus ja asiantunteva työyhteisö.

 

Tehtävän menestyksekäs hoitaminen edellyttää

• Kiinnostusta edistää nykytaiteen – erityisesti taidetta ja tiedettä yhdistelevän kentän – asemaa

• Aiempaa kokemusta taidehallinnosta (ml. varainhankinta, budjetointi ja taloushallinto sekä raportointi ja arviointi)

• Vastuullista ja aloitteellista johtajuutta ja kokemusta tiimin johtamisesta

• Kokemusta taiteen tai tapahtumien tuotannosta

• Yhteistyökykyisyyttä ja käytännönläheistä otetta yhdistyksen toiminnan toteuttamiseen

• Kykyä rakentaa kumppanuuksia ja verkostoitua paikallisesti, kansallisesti ja kansainvälisesti

• Erinomaista suullista ja kirjallista englannin sekä suomen ja/tai ruotsin osaamista (Biotaiteen seuran työkieli on englanti)

• Ihmisten kanssa työskentelystä nauttimista

Mitä tarjoamme

Tehtävän työaika on 80% (4 täyttä päivää viikossa). Mahdollisuus työskennellä 50% työajalla ensimmäiset kaksi kuukautta. Työsuhde alkaa aikaisintaan lokakuussa. Työajat ovat joustavat. Työ sisältää toisinaan ilta- ja viikonlopputöitä sekä satunnaisia työmatkoja. Palkka on 2900 euroa (brutto/kk, perustuen kokoaikaiseen 3625€ palkkaan). Tehtävä on vakituinen, koeaika on 3 kuukautta.

Biotaiteen seura tarjoaa ammattimaisen ja välittävän työympäristön sekä inspiroivan, avoimen ja sitoutuneen yhteisön ja verkoston paikallisia ja kansainvälisiä kumppaneita.

Biotaiteen seurasta

Biotaiteen seuran ydintehtävä on luoda monialaista dialogia taiteen ja tieteen ammattilaisten sekä yleisön välille. Se järjestää biologiaan, ekologiaan ja biotieteisiin keskittyviä näyttelyitä ja tapahtumia. Yhteistyössä Helsingin yliopiston Kilpisjärven biologisen tutkimusaseman kanssa seura fasilitoi residenssi- ja koulutusohjelma Ars Bioarcticaa, jonka fokuksessa on subarktinen ympäristö. Lisäksi seura koordinoi Tokyo Art & Science Research -residenssiohjelmaa yhdessä BioClub Tokyon ja Suomen Japanin instituutin kanssa. Biotaiteen seura perustettiin toukokuussa 2008 ja sillä on tällä hetkellä yli 150 jäsentä Suomesta ja muista maista. Biotaiteen seura työllistää tällä hetkellä neljä työntekijää: toiminnanjohtajan, taiteellisen johtajan, tuotantopäällikön sekä viestintäpäällikkö-residenssikoordinaattorin.

We are looking for a permanent Managing Director starting from October 2024 or as agreed. We offer a diverse role at the helm of a respected and widely networked international association. As the Managing Director of the Bioart Society, you will work amidst a wide range of practitioners from the fields of arts & science, contemporary art, science & technology and environmental humanities. The position offers a unique view to the international art world.

We are seeking a professional who is interested in strategically developing the Society's operations in the long-term in line with the association's values. The goals for the coming years include stabilising the society's activities in our project space SOLU Space in Helsinki, planning new projects with international partners, and strengthening the association's finances. You will work in close collaboration with the Artistic Director to link the operational management with the artistic vision and will be supported by a committed board and a knowledgeable team.

 

ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE

 

Essential

• Interest in promoting the value of contemporary art practice, particularly the field of arts & science

• Previous experience of arts management (incl. fundraising, budgeting and financial management, and reporting & evaluation)

• Responsible and proactive leader, with experience of managing a team

• Experience on art or event production

• A collaborative team member with a hands-on approach to producing the association's activities

• Ability to build partnerships locally, nationally and internationally

• Excellent oral and written skills in English plus Finnish and/or Swedish.*

• Enjoys working with people

*Please note that Bioart Society’s working language is English. However, many of our national partners, stakeholders and external systems (such as banking, foundations etc) operate in the official languages of Finland which are Finnish and Swedish. Therefore the Managing Director is required to operate in Finnish or Swedish in aspects of the role.

Desirable

• Experience and knowledge of working with Nordic and EU funding programmes

• Knowledge and understanding of the field of art & science

• Experience of high level funding bids

• HR experience

• Technical and practical production understanding

 

WHAT WE OFFER

The position is 80% (4 full days) with the possibility of starting 40% the first 2 months. The employment begins earliest in October. Working hours are flexible. The job includes occasional evening and weekend work, as well as occasional business trips. The salary is 2900 euros gross monthly (based on a gross full-time salary of 3625 per month). The position is permanent, with a probationary period of 3 months. Our office is located in Helsinki.

ABOUT BIOART SOCIETY

Bioart Society is a Helsinki-based association developing, producing and facilitating activities around art and natural sciences with an emphasis on biology, ecology and life sciences.Bioart Society was established in May 2008 and currently has over 150 members from Finland and other countries. Bioart Society has a core staff of four: Managing Director, Artistic Director, Communications Manager / Residency Coordinator and Production Manager.

Bioart Society facilitates a variety of workshops, exhibitions, residencies and field laboratories with various partners.
