Challenging definitions of genre, Vincent Roumagnac explores different medium from and within the broad notion of stage, from performance and installations to video experiments. His art practice and research look into the relationship between scenic thinking and time ecology. Roumagnac proposes a methodology of inquiry and experimentality into the question of how to reroute the practice of "directing" into a practice of "redirecting", from a revised temporal ecology of the stage. Since 2010 he collaborates with Finnish choreographer Simo Kellokumpu, and since 2012 with French visual artist Aurélie Pétrel. His solo and collaborative projects have been featured in different European and international venues. From 2015 to 2020 he conducts a doctorate in artistic research at the Performing Arts Research Centre (Uniarts Helsinki) on "Deepening the Stage: Neganthroposcenic Chronotopias and Hyperdramatic Theatre". During the two-week Ars Bioarctica residency in March 2016, he realised the project The Skene Expedition.
