Daniel Wolter

Daniel Wolter, born in Berlin; lives and works in Berlin and Böckenberg (Uckermark). He studied at weißensee kunsthochschule, Berlin and Estonian Art Academy, Tallinn. Since 2013 he is a PhD-student at Bauhaus University, Weimar. In his research he is investigating the perceptibility of geological processes in relation to the ecological interdependencies, caused by human impacts. Since 2012 he was involved in several publication and exhibition projects with the artistic research group STRATAGRIDS, i.a. contributions to the Anthropocene Project (HKW, Berlin). He did research residencies at the Kilpisjärvi Biological Station, Lappland (FI), Nida Art Colony (LI) and NoArte paesemuseo, Sardinia (IT). In 2013 he developed the public project ‘Geology of Marzahn’, which examines the architectural material of former GDR concrete housings at Berlin-Marzahn by geologic means. He is an author of the publishing collective AKV-Berlin.
