Art&HENVI – avoin kutsu taiteilijoille tehdä yhteistyötä Helsingin
yliopiston Ympäristötutkimuksen ja -opetuksen yksikön kanssa

Hakemuksen takaraja on 14. lokakuuta 2011.
Suomen Biotaiteen Seura järjestää Art&HENVIn yhteistyössä Helsingin
yliopiston Ympäristötutkimuksen ja -opetuksen yksikön (HENVI) kanssa.
Art&HENVI on osa World Design Capital Helsinki 2012 -hanketta.

Haemme kolmea taiteilijaa tai taiteilijaryhmää, jotka ovat halukkaita ja
kykeneviä työskentelemään vuoden ajan yhdessä HENVIn kolmesta uudesta
tutkimusohjelmasta. Taiteilijat työskentelevät osana tutkimusryhmiä, ja
heitä kannustetaan luomaan taiteellinen projekti tutkimuksiensa
tuloksena.

HENVIn uudet tutkimusohjelmat ovat:
*Metsät ja ilmastonmuutos

Tämän poikkitieteellisen ja -taiteellisen yhteistyön tulokset
julkaistaan syksyllä 2012 osana World Design Capital Helsinki 2012
-hanketta.

Valituille taitelijoille tai taiteilijaryhmälle myönnetään jokaiselle
3000 euron suuruinen apuraha. Projektin edetessä on mahdollista saada
lisäavustusta.

Edellytämme hakijalta:
*kirjallista kiinnostuksen ja motivaation osoitusta
*biografiaa
*ansioluetteloa/CV:tä
*portfoliota, jossa valikoituja työnäytteitä

Taiteilijan kyky työskennellä itsenäisesti monitieteisessä ympäristössä
sekä aikaisempien töiden laatu ja temaattinen suuntautuneisuus
vaikuttavat suuresti taiteilijan valintaan. Valintatuloksista
tiedotetaan lokakuussa 2011, ja projekti alkaa marraskuussa 2011.
Valintaraatiin kuuluu Suomen Biotaiteen Seuran ja HENVIn jäseniä sekä
kansainvälisiä asiantuntijoita.

Art&HENVI – Open call for artists to work with the Helsinki University
Centre For Environmental Research

Deadline October 14th 2011

Art&HENVI is organized by the Finnish Society of Bioart in collaboration
with the Helsinki University Centre For Environmental Research (HENVI)
in the context of the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.

We are looking for three artists or artist groups who are interested and
capable of working along one of three newly started research groups of
HENVI over the period of one year:

*Forests and Climate Change

*Ecosystem services and sustainable urban development (ENSURE)

*Multidisciplinary Baltic Sea- Research (MULTIDOM)

The artists will work as part of the research groups and are encouraged
to produce an artistic project as result of their investigation.

The results of the interdisciplinary collaboration will be presented in
fall 2012 in the context of the World Design Capital Helsinki 2012.

Each artist/group will receive an initial grant of 3000.- Euro.
Additional support will be acquired during the production phase.

Required are:
* Application statement / letter of motivation
* Biography
* CV
* a portfolio with selected works

The selection of the artists will be strongly based on the artists
ability to work independently in interdisciplinary environments as well
as the quality and thematic orientation of previous works. The
notification of the results will be end of October 2011 and project
start November 2011. The jury will be composed of members of the Finnish
Society of Bioart, HENVI and international experts. We welcome
international applications but want to point out that on-site presence
(for some time is) is essential.
